New Digs, 2009 Version

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Feed readers, huh? They’ve changed my entire world, too (my world of fast, backlit reading). But there comes a time when you’re scrolling through your 1000+ links and wonder: Hey. What does marathonpacks.com actually look like? You know, in real/virtual html-coursing-through-the-tubes life.
Come by the house for a bit. I’ve remodeled! [...]

You Guys

Friday, October 9, 2009

One of the most common questions I get about this site (okay, “got”) was “what’s the deal with the name?” Well, I was doing some reorganizing and disposal-izing this morning, and what did I stumble upon in an old mix-spindle, but the above. Fun fact: when I make (okay, “made”) CD mixes for [...]

Shows and Links Update

Monday, January 26, 2009

I’ve done a bit of remodeling. A slight bit, and it was actually done a few weeks ago. So. I’ve moved all the links to other worthy sites to its own separate page, whittled it down a bit and added some new pals. There’s also an ever-growing section at the bottom [...]

marathonpacks on Rock Insider

Thursday, January 26, 2006

Jax over at Rock Insider was kind enough to allow yours truly to guest star on Rock Insider today, presenting my “Hump Day” picks of items that get me through the average week. It’s sure to dazzle with its utter plain-ness. And come on…how can you ignore this smile?

Two questions for visitors to marathonpacks…
How slowly does the site load?

Does it work better with certain browsers?
I’ve noticed problems with Safari, but not many with Firefox. Any issues with Explorer, Netscape, Opera, etc.?
If you’d like, please leave comments. Thanks!
Update: I’ve tweaked a few things to try and improve the performance. Let [...]

Safari Issues

Tuesday, December 6, 2005

Something queer is happening with marathonpacks and the Safari browser. That’s cause for concern, because (see below) that apparently encompasses roughly 15% of you. Thus, I’ve got my tech support team (me) on the case, and I’ll do my best to fix it, Mac user that I am.
In the meantime, this gives me an opportunity [...]

marathonpacks on Muzzle of Bees

Tuesday, December 6, 2005

New best friend Ryan from Muzzle of Bees is traipsing around the blogosphere and conducting interviews with the bloggers, Alan Lomax-style. In a year or so, when we’ve all come to our senses and moved on, and Rupert Murdoch buys Blogger from Google, they’ll be great museum material. Today, he was kind enough to post [...]
