i am in the car with a russian real estate agent with a thick accent, driving through brooklyn on our way to look at an apartment, and i had a mix i made for a party on a CD in my backpack, we put it on and the first song was maple leaves (7” version) by jens lekman, which he noted was “country and western”

then he noted that the song would “not be good for dance club” but instead would be “good for cupcakes party or cookies party” but that the party would likely be “melancholy”

yet another moment of realizing the limited relevance of my perspective/concerns
