Oh God

Two weeks from the Super Bowl, a report from the Christian Division of the Sports-Divinity Desk:

Phillip Rivers on “chastity as a lost art” (seriously):

Okay, part of the reason I hate Philip Rivers is because he knocked my Colts out of the playoffs two straight years. But a much, much larger part of the reason why I hate Rivers is because, well, of that.

However, as a palette-cleanser, here’s the nearly 40-year-old Kurt Warner, practicing a type of sports-related Christianity of which I think we can all approve. The Sunday-school type:

Yes, folks, that’s the NFC’s representative in the forthcoming Super Bowl, drawing a picture of God. I’m not made of stone, you guys. Make of church stuff what you will (I’ve not set foot in one for non-wedding purposes since the Reagan administration), but this is adorable, in a hang it on the refrigerator sort of way. When they slowly zoom in on his finished drawing at the end, I really want to hear the “Simon” theme from SNL.
