"No, That Was Mannix. I Had A Sheepdog."
Interested in a take on the current Writers' Guild strike that frames the debate with the high level of pissed-off snark you need to fully understand what's going on? The creative-types behind The Office cast forth some deep sarcasm, straight from the pickets (via):
Now, for the fun part of events like this; where guys who know next-to-nothing about the inner workings of the industry proffer creative solutions from selfish self-interest. How about NBC, while bargaining with the union, take the opportunity to interrupt its regularly re-scheduled programming with long lost episodes of shows it was too timid to pick up long ago? Like "Lookwell," the Conan/Smigel/Adam West vehicle that never made it past pilot stage. It's not too much of a stretch, I don't think, to imagine this show (about West's washed-up 70s action actor looking for work in Hollywood) actually grabbing a couple viewers in the middle the current self-referential/self-effacing Thursday night slate. Gotta lose the Sledgehammer-esque aesthetic and make the move toward an HD Stedicam approach, but it could work:
Also: would it kill Fox to throw us a bone, with just a single re-broadcast of the Ben Stiller/Jack Black/Owen Wilson Knight Rider knockoff "Heat Vision and Jack"?

OMG sooo funny, they should bring these back, they are better than half of what is on TV now.
Thanks for the laugh!
I hadn't seen 'Lookwell' before, but had recently revisited 'Heat Vision & Jack'
man, that was great! can I see why the network didn't pick it up? of course - but, I'd still like to call them sons of bitches for making the decision they did.
love,
Chris
