We’re Having Technical…Times. Are We?

Sorry to have to do this, but I need to know…does this site load incredibly slowly for any of you, or not at all, or does it crash your browser? If so, first…aaaarrrgh. Second, I’m very sorry…I have little to no knowledge of html or behind the scenes sort of stuffe, and while I try to make this thing as accessible as possible, I’ve recently heard that it’s in fact the opposite. So, if it’s OK for you, tell me which browser you’re using, and if it’s not, tell me which browser you’re using. And if you know how to fix things and want to tell me, I’ll figure out a way to make you feel like you’ve done an extremely good deed, which you will have done. Okay, read on. Um, if you can.

PS: aarrgh.

Firefox on a Mac loads fine. It’s cool, yo. Just tested Safari on a Mac and that works fine, too.

For the most part no (PC), but during your Beatles’ posts the loading time did prove very problematic.

BUT, right now (for ME), your page loads in under 3 seconds on a PC, using the browsers FIREFOX, OPERA and INTERNET EXPLORER (all latest builds).
in NETSCAPE 7, it loads in around six seconds (waiting for content from jagjaguwar.com). BUT, 7 is outdated, there’s a newer netscape i don’t have yet.

** SO… no problems that i can see

when you look up this page in your browser, you may be looking not at the page itself, but at its CACHE (a temporary “snapshot” of the page, kept on your computer in TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES).
– our computers are designed to do that, to speed access time.
THE WAY TO FIND OUT HOW QUICKLY A PAGE LOADS… force a REFRESH. (simply pull up the page and click REFRESH, on some browsers you need to hold down the CONTROL key while clicking REFRESH).
* anyway, i ALREADY did that, and the page loads quickly for me…

Internet Explorer on a laptop with Windows XP. The site loads just fine. Great site, BTW.

The page loaded VERY slowly for me and another Mac-based buddy, but that seemes to have originated with the Beatles posts. I used Safari for a long time with no problems, simply swiched to Camino when the thing was going slowly during the Beatles posts, and now I’m back to using Safari; back to normal.

Every now and then a string of YouTube videos will (seemingly) contribute to some slow loading. I’m using Safari on a Mac.

yeah, i think it was those beatles posts, which i hate to say because they were so fantastic. but now on safari its loading nice and fast.
