Don Hertzfeldt Rejected
Tuesday, April 4, 2006
I saw this first a few years back, at a screening of Mike Judge’s traveling animation festival. Many of you already know the story—for those that don’t, here’s the postage-stamp version (also contained at the start of the clip): a few years back, the Family Channel commissioned primitive (stick figures/notebook paper) yet hilarious and sporadically brilliant animator Don Hertzfeldt to produce a series of promotional spots. He did. They’re here, in all of their completely rejected glory.
Instead of rewatching this crummy quality imbed, buy it on DVD from Bitter Films.

i really enjoyed the first one (”i’m a banana!”) and the “queen of france”….
the bleeding anus was a little much. wonderfully simple animation though.
i’m sure you knew i’d like this post though.
Wonderful video. I have never seen his work before. Thanks for directing me to it.
