Nikki Sudden, of Swell Maps and later of Jacobites and then simply of Nikki Sudden, passed on early yesterday morning. Over here for discussion and encomia. Over here for live on WFMU a week ago.

Nikki just played a dump club in front of no more than 20 people in Sioux City (of all places) a couple weeks ago and he was electrifyingly charismatic. He made me want to believe in the humble truth and earnest reality of rock and roll again.
