Top Ten Vocal Moments on The Rosebuds’ Birds Make Good Neighbors That Don’t Consist of Real Words
Saturday, December 10, 2005

I love The Rosebuds’ Birds Make Good Neighbors. A lot. The #2 position on my year end best of list, though surely tripling their album sales, just doesn’t do it justice. I can’t put into words how much I love this album. And apparently, Ivan and Kelly had the same issue on the album itself. Each of the first ten tracks feature a non-lyrical chant or beautiful utterance of some sort–fitting for a record built around our noisy avian friends. Here they are, in chronological order:
1. “Hold Hands and Fight“
2. “Boxcar“
3. “Leaves Do Fall“
4. “Wildcat“
5. “The Lovers’ Rights“
6. “Blue Bird“
7. “Outnumbered“
8. “Shake Our Tree“
9. “Let Us Go“
10. “Warm Where You Lay“

This is great. I noticed this on some in-studio stuff I listened to. There were bird whistles and whoooa, whoooa, whoooas that I end up humming all day.
still have yet to listen to this but plan to do soon, can’t believe I did not pick up on it earlier.
whoah…5 secs, 3 snips, & I’m buying it.
yeah, i’m going to go buy this now…like…today.
This is my number one of the year…thanks for picking out all the beautiful bits.
definately one of the best albums of the year…so amazing and infectious
