Who Made Who “Space for Rent”
Friday, October 28, 2005
I’m not sure if they’re actively playing off the AC/DC-derived irony in their name, but the music produced by Denmark’s Who Made Who couldn’t be further from their ostensibly descriptive moniker than fellow Scandanavians Acid House Kings. They have managed to stake out a space in the heavily populated electro field somewhere between the driving rhythms of Giorgio Moroder and the falsetto camp of Scissor Sisters. The rhythm of their debut, self-titled album relies heavily on a slapped bass that makes me wonder how much Graham Central Station was listened to during the recording sessions. They’re much better than contemporaries 33Hz, but not quite as far reaching as LCD Soundsystem. Song “Space for Rent” (mp3) canters along at a moderate pace.
