Afterhours “E’ la Fine la Piu Importante”

Wednesday, October 12, 2005

Greg Dulli is a busy man these days–fresh from the release of his solo project, the long-shelved (since 2001) Amber Headlights, he’s working on an album with Mark Lanegan as The Gutter Twins, finishing the next Twilight Singers joint, Powder Burns (January ‘06), and has just returned from a tour with his latest infatuation, Italian band Afterhours. Their new record, Ballate Per Piccole Iene, loosely translates to “Dance for Small Hyenas,” and offers the same dark, dramatic tonality Dulli has mastered since his salad days with the Afghan Whigs. Dulli produced the album, and is considered an honorary member of the band–it’s impossible, however, to find an English-language review, which leads to intriguingly and fractally translated reviews like: “They remain the dark beauty, dirty kisses, red silk to buy for just badly. The knife and the wound. Blood.” Song “E’ la Fine la Piu Importante” (mp3) rocks incredibly hard, with or without dirty kisses.

Buy Ballate Per Piccole Iene here, for the low, low price of 18.83 Euro!
