The Marlboro Chorus "Takin’ A Ride"

Davenport, Iowa isn’t necessarily the first town to come to mind when one thinks of indie pop breeding grounds. And, well, there’s probably good reason for that. But it has produced one fantastic group–the Marlboro Chorus–whose ebullient melodies capture the sunniness and light psychedelia of the best Elephant 6 music (I’m thinking immediately of Beulah) while keeping the rhythm section tight enough to keep those St. Ambrose University students on the dance floor.
