Fanuelle “Dirty Loverstuff”

New York based singer/songwriter Fanuelle (from my best guess, it’s pronounced “fahn-well”) issued his first eponymous album earlier this year. It’s a subdued affair; trading in sounds reminiscent of early Stephen Merritt or the lower tempo work of the Pet Shop Boys. He multi-tracks his breathy, light-as-a-feather vocals over beds of plucked strings, drum machines, obscure film dialogue and lots of synth. His website leaves much to the imagination, which only furthers the intrigue behind the album, and especially this track (mp3).
